Nestling among the tops of the Ligurian Alps, Triora offers a glorious location for a week of intensive and enjoyable music making with one of the most experienced musicians in the field of renaissance polyphony. As a professional singer who gave over a thousand concerts with the renowned Tallis Scholars, Deborah Roberts is also a regular teacher on courses and summer schools around the world, a choral director, the visiting vocal teacher at Cork University, Ireland, and co founder and artistic director of Brighton Early Music Festival.
The course will start with a brief introduction followed by dinner on Sunday May 18 th , culminate in a concert on Saturday May 24 th and end after an early breakfast on Sunday 25 th .
Daily vocal warm-ups and workshop sessions will give all participants the chance to improve their technique as well as learning much about the art of ensemble music making.
A reasonable standard of sight reading is desirable, though music will be sent out in advance. Participants are also encouraged to bring sets of other appropriate music for informal music making out of hours.

We will stay in the Colomba d'Oro, a comfortable and friendly family run hotel in Triora - where much of the singing will also take place. All rooms are en suite, many with balconies and superb views over the mountains. In order to maximise free time in the afternoon for excursions, breakfast and dinner will be included in the overall price but lunch left to individual choice. This does not include drinks and extra teas and coffees. The prices still need to be confirmed, but should average at around € 450 per person depending upon the type of room (single, double or triple).
