Singing Polyphony
With special reference to the music of Tomas Luis de Victoria (1548-1611)

A course with two ability levels-

  • Singers with basic reading skills who want to improve
  • Experienced and confident readers

Much emphasis will be placed on vocal and ensemble technique. Daily vocal workshops are run with the whole group which will then divide to work on a range of music, but with special attention on the music of Tomas Luis de Victoria, one of the greatest of all Renaissance composers, who died 400 years ago.

The Directors

Deborah and John are both highly experienced professional singers, singing teachers and choral directors. Deborah is also co Artistic Director of Brighton Early Music Festival and she and John run several vocal groups associated with the festival. John is a regular teacher at several summer schools including Dartington, while Deborah is a regular tutor at the Tallis Scholars Summer Schools in Oakham, Seattle and Sydney.
